Magpie Vintage Clothes Madrid – Where to shop Vintage

June 30th, 2012

Magpie Madrid Shoes

Magpie Vintage Clothes is probably the favorite vintage store of many people here in Madrid and you can always find interstingly dressed people shopping at Magpie Vintage .

One of the reasons to visit Magpie Vintage Clothes is that it is situated on Calle Velarde. This is one of the best places to shop Vintage in Madrid. It is also very great for people watching and getting inspired by the many different styles people show in this area of the city. Down the street you find the heart of Malasaña, Plaza Dos de Mayo, a historic place during the Movida Madrileña. It is also great for having a beer or tinto de verano during summer.

At Magpie Vintage Clothes they have vintage clothes and accessories for men and women and offer them to nice prices. I like their diversity and they never become boring because their offer changes constantly.

Magpie Vintage is a colorful mix of outfits from the middle of the last centruy to clothes that could have just been put in there directly from the catwalks.

They just added turbans form Carmen Hérnan to their collection which fit perfectly with all their vintage treasures.

The best part for me is to have a look at all the antique acessories they store in behind glas. Most of the look like pieces from a different time in the far past.
Get inspired for your next shopping trip by some inside Magpie pics:

Kraken Rum – Invading Malasaña and Triball

June 3rd, 2012

The Kraken Rum in Madrid

You may have noticed some shops on Corredera Baja de San Pablo to have added a new style to their shop windows. A big kraken has appeared on shop windows like those of Gük, Licores Picor or García Madrid. First I thought this was a new brand of clothes until I realized, how many shops have the kraken on their windows. At Gük I learned that Kraken is a new brand of rum that just recently arrived in Spain from the Carribean, The Kraken Rum.

La Tirana Malas Artes

La Tirana Malas Artes is one of this places you would probably pass by without even realizing on what your are missing out. If it is not Friday, Saturday or Sunday night 10 minutes before the doors open, it is hard to imagine that in Calle Santa Lucia 10, Malasaña, anything interesting would happen. But if you happen to be in any way close to this address at these times of the week you will see people queuing to enter one of Madrids most hidden cultural space.

La Tirana Malas Artes

The entrance you have to find!

Naif Madrid Sandwiches and more in a cool Restaurant

February 8th, 2012

Naif Madrid Sandwiches

Before I went to Naif in Malasana, I heard a lot of good things about it. Madri y Yo and Madrid Diferente were writing only the best about it and it was featured in Elle Espana. The food is delicious, they serve you fast and the prices are nice. Especially the Naif Madrid Sandwiches have attract a lot of good reviews.

The place itself is like a secret spot for people who look for a nice place to work at their laptop during lunch or meet with friends in a cool atmosphere in the evening. I was siting at the bar having a Naif Sandwich just looking around the place and discovering every 5 minutes something new.
