Dutch Queens Day in Madrid

Posted by Mar | 22, April 2012 | Centro

A few pictures of the Dutch Queens Day in Madrid, celebrated every year by many Dutch expats.

Dutch Queens Day Madrid

at Plaza del Carmen

As an expat you might have to give up some of your traditions and national holidays in your new country. As a Dutch in Madrid it is the other way around. La Cultura de Holanda de España organizes the week before Koninginnendag, the Dutch Queens Day, many typical Dutch activities here in Madrid. It starts with a bike tour in orange from Plaza de Cibeles to Plaza del Carmen, where you can go on celebrating at a flea market organized for children. There is Dutch food, like frikandel, french fries, bitterballen and plenty happy Dutch wearing their orange T-shirts and having a good time.

I Love Holland Ballons

It is a great opportunity to meet other expats from the Netherlands and have some traditional Dutch experience. More information on their facebook page of Cultura de Holanda en España.
